Gravel Grounds Coffee Sportive Rider Notes

Thank you for entering our sportive and welcome!
As you know, Forge1860 has a highly regarded reputation in the cycling community, and we want to ensure this event is enjoyable and safe for everyone. To help us achieve this, Guy and William Pearson kindly ask all riders to:
Obey ALL traffic signals and the highway code.
Cycle safely and considerately.
Slow and warn horse riders and other path users of your approach where applicable.
Ride single file where necessary.
Avoid riding more than two abreast, especially when in groups.
The course has been carefully designed to be both scenic and challenging. It will not be signposted, so riders are expected to follow the route using a GPS device. If you do not have one, we will find you a partner who does, but please arrive early for a good match of ability. We will release riders in small groups to avoid congestion from 7.30am, late risers leave 8.30am!
Once you leave the start, roll out of Sheen, pass through Richmond Park and out along The Hogsmill River Trail. The route winds its way through the grounds of Horton Park, Ashtead and Leatherhead, and finally to your feed stop at The Queen's Stage in Effingham.
Participants will receive a filter coffee and a pastry before heading back to Forge 1860 to finish.
Please note, further food and refreshments are available in The Queen's Stage at rider expense.

The homeward route tracks through Bookham, Oxshott and Esher Commons, where riders will experience glorious winter gravel conditions. The final section will take in Bushy and Richmond Park.
After completing this ride, you can enjoy further refreshments at Forge 1860, then home, to no doubt wash your kit. Twice.
This is an unsupported event, riders take part at their own risk and must obey the highway code at all times. If you require emergency help call 999. If you have any non-emergency issues call us at Forge 1860: tel +442086422095
